Cheese Bratwurst and Onion Dip Loaded Hot-Dog

Ingredients

  • 1 pack Hellers Cheese Bratwurst
  • 1 batch of kiwi onion dip – 1 x can reduced cream, 1 x pack onion soup mix, lemon juice + malt vinegar to taste
  • 2-3 Iceberg leaves or Cos leaves roughly chopped
  • 1 red onion cut into rings
  • 1 green pepper cut in half, seeds removed and cut into long slices
  • Olive oil
  • 4 Hot dog buns cut lengthways from the top
  • To Serve:
  • Chow Chow
  • Your fave Potato Chips

Method

  1. Make up a batch of the onion dip by mixing all the ingredients together well in a small bowl and set aside
  2. In a large fry pan add a glug of olive oil and gently fry the red onions and green peppers together over medium heat for 10 mins until they have both softened and starting to caramelise
  3. Gently fry or bbq the bratwurst sausages over medium low heat until thoroughly heated through
  4. To assemble generously spread the onion dip into each cut hot dog bun. Top with lettuce, onions and peppers, and the bratwurst
  5. Serve with chow chow dolloped on top and a side of potato chips
  6. Put any leftover onion dip on the table for those who want to dip their chips into it!
