Cheese Bratwurst and Onion Dip Loaded Hot-Dog

Ingredients
- 1 pack Hellers Cheese Bratwurst
- 1 batch of kiwi onion dip – 1 x can reduced cream, 1 x pack onion soup mix, lemon juice + malt vinegar to taste
- 2-3 Iceberg leaves or Cos leaves roughly chopped
- 1 red onion cut into rings
- 1 green pepper cut in half, seeds removed and cut into long slices
- Olive oil
- 4 Hot dog buns cut lengthways from the top
- To Serve:
- Chow Chow
- Your fave Potato Chips
Method
- Make up a batch of the onion dip by mixing all the ingredients together well in a small bowl and set aside
- In a large fry pan add a glug of olive oil and gently fry the red onions and green peppers together over medium heat for 10 mins until they have both softened and starting to caramelise
- Gently fry or bbq the bratwurst sausages over medium low heat until thoroughly heated through
- To assemble generously spread the onion dip into each cut hot dog bun. Top with lettuce, onions and peppers, and the bratwurst
- Serve with chow chow dolloped on top and a side of potato chips
- Put any leftover onion dip on the table for those who want to dip their chips into it!
