Bratwurst Tacos with Chipotle and Cheddar

Spice up Taco Tuesday with this basic sausage recipe – Bratwurst Tacos with Chipotle and Cheddar. A delicious twist on a classic, featuring Jumbo Brats for extra flavour in every bite!

Ingredients

  • 1 pack Hellers Classic Brats or Cheese Brats
  • 6 soft shell tacos
  • Iceberg lettuce finely chopped
  • 2 spring onions finely sliced
  • Grated cheddar
  • Guacamole
  • Chipotle salsa or a spicy tomato salsa
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • Fresh limes
  • Jalapenos optional

Method

  1. Cook the Jumbo Brats thoroughly in a fry pan or on a bbq. Cut into smaller chunks and place into a medium bowl with a large spoonful of chipotle salsa - toss together to coat
  2. Warm the tacos in the microwave or oven or over your bbq
  3. Layer into the warm taco shells iceberg lettuce, grated cheddar, smokey brats tossed in chipotle salsa, guacamole and spring onions
  4. Garnish with coriander leaves, jalapenos and a squeeze of fresh lime
  5. Serve with extra chipotle salsa and sour cream
